Please add Companies and Intellectual Property Commission for South Africa as a data source
"Companies and Intellectual Property Commission" is a commission where Companies in South Africa register to. It would be helpful to have the Data Source added as well. https://www.cipc.co.za
Thanks for the suggestion to add the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) as a data source for South Africa. You're right that it's the authoritative register — every SA company registers there — so it's exactly the kind of source we'd want to cover.
We've already researched CIPC in detail in the past and now again, and the challenge isn't the data itself but getting reliable programmatic access to it:
CIPC's official developer API programme is still immature, and self-service registration is currently disabled (the sign-up returns "user registration is not supported"). Onboarding is manual and gated.
The published API terms cover a sandbox with test data only — production ("Basic Access") requires a separate, approved agreement, with no service-level or uptime guarantees.
Production use requires a funded CIPC customer code and a formal integration arrangement with CIPC, which they approve case by case.
In short, we can't simply plug CIPC in — it needs an approved CIPC relationship to access the live data.
This is where you could help: do you (or your group) already have access to CIPC — an existing customer code or an API/web-service integration? If so, we'd be glad to explore doing this in collaboration, using your existing access, which would let us move much faster than starting the onboarding from scratch.
If not, we can also look at reseller routes that provide CIPC data via a proper API (e.g. Datanamix, Standard Bank SearchWorks) — happy to discuss which fits best.
Hi Simon currently we have also no access there we just receive sheets from Business Partner as attachment to the creation of Master Data :(

Let me know how you're currently accessing CIPC.
