As part of the S4 rollout, in cleansing process, we have identified the need for a customized report in CDQ to streamline our data validation process, improve efficiency, and consolidate essential information into a single, comprehensive report.
Current Challenges
VAT validation and Name/Address curation rely on two separate reports—the Legal Entity Curation Report and the Identifier Qualification Report—resulting in a cumbersome, manual process.
The complexity and lack of user-friendliness make these reports difficult for teams to navigate and utilize effectively.
The closest match to our needs, the Legal Entity Curation Report, contains excessive columns that are hard to interpret, especially for those unfamiliar with CDQ’s functionality. Key data points, such as VAT/Tax status and various identifiers, are not clearly defined, leading to confusion.
Reports frequently return blank results without explanation, creating inefficiencies and delays.
The absence of official validation sources raises concerns about data accuracy and reliability.
Proposed Solution
We propose a consolidated report that provides the following key information as columns:
Customer Number – Extracted from the uploaded template, input.
VAT/Tax Number – Extracted from the uploaded template, input.
VAT/Tax Validation Format – To confirm format accuracy (OK / NOK).
VAT/TAX Validity – To confirm validity (Valid / Invalid).
VAT/TAX Customer Status – To confirm customer status (Active / In Liquidation / Inactive) based on VAT input.
Validation Source – To identify the verification source (e.g., VIES for EU countries or country-specific databases).
Customer Name – Extracted from the uploaded template, input.
Legal Registered Name – Official name based on VAT/Tax number.
Name Validation – Compares input vs. output from CDQ.
Address – Extracted from the uploaded template, input:
Country,
City,
Street and House Number,
Postal Code,
Region,
Legal Address Details – Address data based on VAT/Tax number, including:
Country,
City,
Street and House Number,
Postal Code,
Region,
Address Validation – Compares input vs. output from CDQ:
Country,
City,
Street and House Number,
Postal Code,
Region.
Conclusion
Implementing this focused report will significantly enhance efficiency in data cleansing, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy. Many teams have stopped using CDQ due to the complexity of existing reports; this streamlined solution would drive greater adoption and usability across the company.
We’d love to hear your thoughts and discuss the next steps for implementation!
I'm really curious about it!
WOW!!! THIS WILL HELP US A LOT!!!
